Smith • Gardner • Slusky Law is the confluence of two highly capable, knowledgeable and experienced law firms – Dwyer Smith and Slusky Law, LLC with Slusky Mediation.
A history in brief
Dwyer Smith traced its origins to 1978, when it was founded by Bob Dwyer and Dennis Martin. The law firm offered a full range of legal services, focusing on delivering a high degree of personal assistance to clients while at the same time using the latest technologies to provide faster, more cost-effective service.
Slusky Law, LLC and Slusky Mediation, founded in 2005, brought a similar ethic to its practice. Slusky Law and Slusky Mediation believed in providing friendly, fast and cost-effective legal services to their real estate, business and other clients.
In August 2006, Jerry Slusky represented a real estate developer seeking a loan from a bank represented by Dan Smith. In the process of closing the loan, Slusky saw that Smith used an innovative Web-based system that Smith himself had developed that made loan-closing documents accessible online to the attorneys, the bank, the developer, the title company and other related parties. By collaborating through a secure Web site, it enabled all parties involved to make agreed-upon changes and close the loan in a faster, more efficient manner.
Soon thereafter, Smith, Gardner and Slusky began sharing their respective approaches to the practice of law, and a merger of the two firms only seemed natural. On March 1, 2008, the law firms announced they would merge to create Smith • Gardner • Slusky Law, a top-10 law firm in Omaha.
